Using Linq to XML to retrieve the attribute of the child element
I have the following XML:
The XYZ Book
Paul Smith
2003
I want to retrieve all the attributes.
My code is:
var xml = XDocument.Load("file.xml");
var books = from node in xml.Descendants("Title")
select node.Attribute("PublishYear");
In the above code, the books variable is null (nothing is returned).
How can I achieve what I want?

You just need to name the attribute that you want to select, like so:
var xml = XDocument.Load("file.xml");
var books = from node in xml.Descendants("Title")
select node.Attribute("PublishYear");
Note that you need to select the node, not the node's attribute.

Museum Guided Tours
Free Museum Guided Tours are offered for small groups every weekday in season. Groups are guided through all parts of the museum and all galleries.
